We designed the F5 helmet to stay in the Klim family so it still looked like a KLIM helmet, but we pushed limits to design it so it would be the lightest weight and most ventilated helmet on the market. The oversized vents in the bow of the helmet are designed to force air into the top of the goggle. These bow vent also force the air throughout the entire helmet via the EPS designed to complement the brow vents.
The 4 large vents in the top of the helmet are designed to allow heat to escape from the helmet a low speeds. We really focused on the concept of radiant heat loss to cater to the rider that is exerting a lot of effort in technical sections at low speeds. The vents in the back of the helmet are designed as exhaust vents to help pull air through the helmet via the Venturi effect. Everything was taken into account from the fit of the helmet around the crown and face to the overall size of the shell, even the shell was designed to complement the placement of the goggle strap.
